A powerful storm devastated a rice warehouse in Thailand.

CCTV footage shows the heavy downpour with gusts spraying through the building's window in Amnat Charoen province on May 20.

The water soaked the mounds of rice until the bad weather eventually knocked down one of the large metal gates.

A worker was seen fleeing as the wind tore down the steel structure while he was trying to cover the large sacks with plastic.

The warehouse manager said: 'The storm blew so strong that our warehouse door was destroyed. It was terrifying.'

Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are at the start of their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms. The rudimentary infrastructure often struggles with the deluge, leading to widespread flash floods.
