A French tourist was killed by a falling tree whilst on holiday in Padang, Indonesia.

Thuleau Aurore, 29, was killed by a tree whilst resting at an inn called Sumatra Ecolodge.

One French citizen, Thuleau Aurore, 29 years old, was killed by a falling tree while he was resting at an inn called Sumatra Ecolodge, Banana River area, Padang City, West Sumatra Province, Indonesia. For repatriation, the victim's body was taken to the Bhayangkara Regional Police Hospital, West Sumatra Province for a post-mortem.

After the post-mortem, the mayor of Padang, Andre Algamar, handed over the documents and post-mortem results to the representative of the French ambassador for the requirements so that the body could be returned to France. "We as Padang city government must help speed up the administration of repatriating bodies to their country of origin, so that they can be buried quickly," said the official mayor of Padang, Andre Algamar.

The head of the Bungus Teluk Kanung sector police, Kompol Al Indra, revealed "the chronology of the incident, on May 22 2024, the city of Padang was hit by heavy rain and strong winds, triggering a tree to fall on the guest house, which also hit the victim who was resting at the time."

"The victim, Thuleau Aurora, went to the city of Padang with her twin sister, Thuleau Florin, for a trip, allegedly celebrating their birthday on May 19,"

Currently, the bodies of the victims, Thuleau Aurore and her twin sister, Thuleau Florin, will leave for France.
