A cheeky monkey drank Pepsi on the back of a passing pickup truck.

Footage shows the primate chugging the two-litre bottle of soda it found on the cargo bed of the vehicle it climbed up in Lopburi province, Thailand, on March 16.

The passengers watched as the smart animal removed the cap and drank the fizzy drink.

However, the animal seemingly did not like how it tasted and left the bottle, spilling the liquid on the floor.

Onlooker Tawan Buakom, who was inside the truck, said: 'The monkey did not like it and threw it away.'

Lopburi has become a popular tourist destination because of its large population of monkeys. The monkeys are mostly long-tailed macaques, and they can be found all over the city, from the temples to the streets.
