This is the heartwarming moment a Chinese zoo held a wedding ceremony for two sun bears in the presence of tourists.

Tianjin Zoo's sun bear, Bobi, married Hua Di from Guangdong Zoo in Tianjin, China, on May 20.

Footage shows the couple's enclosure adorned with red couplets featuring the Chinese character for happiness.

Tourists participated in the ceremony, wearing red clips on the right side of their heads, a traditional accessory for weddings.

The basin on the ground was replaced with a new red one filled with Bobi's favourite Musang King durian, along with other fruits.

According to a staff member, they carefully selected a suitable companion for Bobi and chose Hua Di to be his partner.

The pair eventually became familiar with each other, and their relationship developed quickly.

The couple are just two years apart in age and are experiencing their first romance.
