On May 23, 2024, a giant spider crab found itself stranded and upside down on the shore of Seal Beach, Orange County, USA.
As it struggled to get back on its feet, a kind-hearted woman came to the rescue, using a stick, to carefully flip the crab.
Just in time, a wave swept in, carrying the crab back out to the safety of the deep ocean.

Coming across this crab was mind blowing. The legs were deep in sand so I couldn’t grasp the magnitude of how large it was. I decided to help push it back out but my stick broke it under its shell, and then another stick broke. I eventually found a large washed up branch that I tucked under him again at this point, the crab had flipped on its back. I managed to get a good flip on it and got it back out to ocean. I frequent the beach for surfing and fishing on the ocean with family. This is the largest crab I have come across. I was two miles from my truck, even if I decided to keep it for food or treasure, I only had a wind breaker to carry it back with me. This creature deserved deep ocean again. It was a beautiful experience
