Pro-Palestine sit-in in Nantes, France following deadly israeli attack on Rafah, Gaza.
On Monday, April 27th, hundreds of people gathered in front of Nantes’s prefecture (France) to denounce the bombings that occurred the night prior in a refugee camp in Rafah, Gaza. Protesters denounced yet another crime from Israel, as dozens of people, including children were killed.
The people gathered for more than 2 hours, listening to various speeches from palestinian people or relatives, French militants, protesters there to share their grief or outrage, jewish people denouncing the use of their religion as a symbol of oppression by zionists.
In one of the many speeches, one protester says "Last night, we saw decapitated babies on our screen for real, and no one is doing anything. Not a single leader outraged, nothing to stop this genocide. So Macron, you can tweet about your shock, but when it’s time to stop selling weapons to Israel, when it is time to sanction this terrorist State, when you need to stop being complicit in crimes against Humanity, you do nothing."
Overall, the protest denounced the entire Israeli attack on Gaza, denouncing the lack of reaction from the West to these attacks, and inviting people to keep the pressure until the end of the attacks. Families of people stuck in Gaza also talked about the living conditions, their fear of learning these people have died. After a few hours, people began to disperse, calling for yet another protest later this week.
