A giant picnic was held on the Champs-Elysees on Sunday, an event co-organized by the Champs-Elysees Committee and the LG Electronics.
A total of 238,000 people registered on the platform, while only 4,000 lucky people were selected by drawing to participate in the event in two services: the first at noon and the second at 2 p.m., with each service having nearly 2,000 participants.
Food was provided free of charge to participants via meal baskets made by eight restaurant owners on the avenue and prepared in eight pop-up kitchens set up along the avenue for the occasion.
The free picnic aims to promote anti-waste and sustainable development.
The tablecloth on which the guests were seated was made from fabric manufactured entirely from recycled fibers. The undistributed baskets and foodstuffs were collected by an association, which fights against waste and food insecurity.
