A frightened resident fled as a mountainside collapsed in eastern China.

Dramatic video filmed in Qianshan City in Anhui Province on May 27 shows a terrified resident running away as a mountainside suddenly collapsed, with heavy smoke rising into the air.

According to reports, a small amount of debris had already accumulated by the roadside, accompanied by warning signs reading "Landslide, Reduce Speed."

A staff member from the Highway Centre of Qianshan City's Transportation Bureau stated that maintenance workers had previously identified the danger and had installed warning signs, with personnel stationed on-site.

The staff member commented, "After noticing abnormalities this morning, maintenance workers also prevented vehicles from entering the area, with no reported injuries."

潜山市交通局公路中心一名工作人员称，此前已有养护工人勘察时发现存在危险，有制作警示标牌，并安排人员现场值守。该工作人员说：“前期已经勘察出来了，前几天就有人值班，及时在处理了。今天早上发现异常后，养护工人也在那边制止进车了，没有人员伤亡。接下来会把路边坡修平整些。”
