Cyclone Remale wreaks havoc in coastal areas. Village after village has been submerged by tidal water and dam breaking. Thousands of residents have become waterlogged. These people are living a miserable life without eating due to damage to their houses. No aid arrived for two days. The common people are suffering due to acute shortage of drinking water. Several areas have been in the dark for two days. Ordinary people without electricity and communication. Coastal areas including Khulna, Bagerhat, Patuakhali are still floating in water. Cyclone Reman has caused extensive damage. Fisheries worth Tk 700 crore have been damaged. About 41,000 fish enclosures, 26,300 ponds and 4,000 crab enclosures have been damaged in the district, according to the Fisheries Department. In addition to food damage, several goats, sheep and poultry have died in the cyclone.
