Fire crews battled a blaze engulfing a woodland in Spain.

Aerial footage shows the extent of the fire as it spread across Tortosa, Tarragona, as seen from a helicopter on May 28. The flames erupted in a forest and were reported at 10:15 am local time.

Authorities deployed 14 firefighting teams and four helicopters, including two bombers and two Avas.

Efforts were concentrated on the right flank of the fire, which posed challenges due to its remote location deep within the ravine of Raco de l'Ermita.

Fire crews requested the suspension of wind turbines in the area as a preventive measure, and personnel from the wind farm were evacuated.

There were also no reports of the fire threatening any residential areas. The situation was closely monitored as firefighting efforts continued throughout the day.
