In a dramatic turn of events on May 29, a 10-foot-long crocodile emerged from a canal in Narora Gangaghat, Bulandshahr district, Uttar Pradesh, causing alarm among local residents.

The crocodile jumped out of the canal and roamed freely around a railing, attempting to jump across and creating a tense situation.

Local authorities, including the police and forest department, quickly sprang into action.

The rescue operation took several hours as officials worked meticulously to safely capture the massive reptile.

Inspector Tara Singh Chauhan (SHO) of the Narora Police Station explained to Newslions that the crocodile was first spotted by children, prompting a crowd to form and the police to be notified.
The police then contacted the forest department.

During the rescue, the crocodile sustained injuries from its escape attempts and required medical attention before being relocated back to its natural habitat in the Ganga River.

This incident underscores the challenges of human-wildlife interactions near natural water bodies in India and highlights the successful, coordinated efforts to ensure both public safety and animal welfare.
