USA: Fatal Shooting in Hyde Park

LAFD responded to reports of a rubbish fire in the area of 63rd Street and Crenshaw Boulevard.
LAFD Engine 94 reported as they were pulling up to the rubbish fire, that there was a shooting that occurred inside the motel with patrons running towards fire engine.
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to the 6300 block of Crenshaw Boulevard for the shooting with ambulance requested.
Arriving officers located a Black male victim in his mid to late 30s, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim had entered the suspect's apartment and an altercation ensued, according to LAPD spokesperson Officer Cervantes.
During the altercation, the suspect shot the victim with a handgun, according to Cervantes. The 22-year-old Black male suspect remained at the scene and was taken into custody without incident.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
According to the LAPD, this incident is gang related.
LAPD's 77th Division is handling the investigation.
