USA: Person Fatally Shot at McDonald's

A person was shot at the McDonald's restaurant in California City located 9628 California City Blvd. At 12:34 p.m., first responders rushed to the scene and found the victim with a gunshot wound. The severity of the injury was initially unclear, and it's unknown if the victim has succumbed to their injuries at this time. Authorities remained on the scene, investigating and securing the area with crime scene tape. The situation is still developing. No further details are available at this time.
UPDATE FROM CALIFORNIA CITY POLICE AT 4:30 P.M.
The incident involved two individuals. Police said one of the two was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital where they later died. This is an active investigation.
