STORYLINE:

Riding the waves of deepening China-Central Asia cooperation, an increasing number of Chinese enterprises have accelerated pace to expand their market presence in five Central Asian countries, namely, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

The Shaanxi Automobile Holding Group Co., Ltd. (SHACMAN) is one of them.

By introducing customized design and performance of its trucks to meet the specific needs of users, the company exported more than 7,500 heavy trucks to Central Asian countries in 2023, up 110 percent year on year.

SOUNDBITE (Chinese): HUI XIANG, Brand manager of Shaanxi Heavy Duty Automobile Import & Export Co., Ltd., an affiliate company of SHACMAN
"SHACMAN's main exports to Central Asia include complete vehicles, cabins, parts, and auto accessories. We used to primarily export dump trucks to Central Asia. But in recent years, we have enhanced our efforts to tap the market of road vehicles. Our sales in Central Asia have been continuously growing. Particularly after the first China-Central Asia Summit, our sales saw a certain growth.
When we first entered the Central Asian market, the most sold vehicle types were the F2000 and F3000. As our R&D capabilities keep improving and customer demands have also changed, now, our main product has shifted from the previous F series to the high-end X3000. In the future, we will insist on a customized product strategy and make more efforts to understand the Central Asian market's needs, and continuously improve our products."
