Fireman gets married with hoses forming a tunnel outside church
A fireman who was just married passed through hoses forming a tunnel outside a church with his bride.
Philip Louie Diabo, 32, and his new wife Jeorine April Zennia Cano, 30, emerged from the Catholic building's entrance after the wedding ceremony and were welcomed by colleagues with a lighthearted tradition in Bayawan City, the Philippines on May 25.
Footage shows the newlywed couple passing through the looped hose with an umbrella. Philip then did some push-ups and shouted ‘I love my wife' before their guests cheered as they watched from a distance.
Their friend Rusell Mae Mogar who attended the church ceremony said: ‘The bride was my friend, she was a teacher and her husband was a fireman so they did that after the wedding.'
The 'hoseman' tradition in the Philippines involves a fire truck and firefighters spraying water from a hose over a newly married couple as they exit the church. It was meant to symbolise the baptism of the new marriage.
