A passerby used a self-made tool to rescue a cat trapped in a pond in southern China.

Video filmed in Guangdong Province on May 26, shows a person stretching out a long pole with a net at the end to save a feline from the water.

The rescuer tried several times, eventually catching the cat and returning it to safety.

According to the filmer, the cat dashed away when rescued, leaving no time for a check-up to see if it was injured. They also had no clue how the kitten ended up in the water.
