On May 25, 2024, a filmer in Wuhan, Hubei was on his way back home when he captured a crowd working together to rescue a father and son who had fallen down a sewer well.

The filmer initially thought it was a slight traffic accident when he heard someone yelling to call the police. Upon closer looking, he realized that someone had accidentally fallen into the sewer well.

People tried to pull the two up by lowering a long stick into the well, but it was hard for the child to hold on to it because of the slippery. Another passerby found a rope to pull the father and son up with the help of the crowd and the arriving police.

To help pull the rope, the filmer stopped recording the video. As he happened to be on the same path as the fallen two, the filmer learned that it was due to the father’s two children playing on the street and unintentionally stepped on an insecure manhole cover at the same time that caused the younger child to fall in. Luckily, no one was hurt in the end.
