Gaza Strip, Palestine - May 29, 2024

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have escalated their activities in the area between the security barrier and the town of Tulkarm following recent shooting incidents targeting settlements near the separation barrier in the Menashe Brigade sector.

In cooperation with all security forces, IDF units are undertaking operations to safeguard settlements in the Judea and Samaria region, with a focus on those adjacent to the security barrier.

Troops are deploying ambushes for terrorists and conducting intelligence surveillance to track down suspects planning attacks, apprehending them as necessary. Additionally, efforts are underway in refugee camps and deep within villages to counter militants, detain wanted individuals, and seize weapons and terror funds.

During the past week, hundreds of thousands of shekels in terror funds were confiscated, over 40 wanted suspects were arrested, and various means of warfare and terror financing were banned.

Overnight, the IDF carried out operations in two exchange houses that funded terrorism in Ramallah in the Benjamin Brigade sector. These operations resulted in the seizure of over 400,000 shekels in terror funds and the confiscation of a handgun. Furthermore, 13 wanted individuals were apprehended across Judea and Samaria, while forces secured the entry of over 100 worshippers to Joseph's Tomb.

As part of efforts to enhance readiness for infiltration and breaches of the security barrier, the Judea and Samaria Division, in collaboration with the Air Force, conducted a series of drills simulating infiltration incidents and barrier breaches.
