USA: University Park Pursuit Leads to LAPD-Involved and Wrong-Way Crashes

LAPD Southwest units were in pursuit of a vehicle when the primary unit lost control and crashed into a light standard and bus bench at the intersection of W Jefferson Boulevard and S Hoover Street.
At least one officer was transported in unknown condition.
The pursuit continued before the suspect crashed wrong-way with another vehicle on Grand Avenue just north of 18th Street.
LAPD Sgt. Kevin Ahlemeir said the pursuit and traffic collision scenes were being investigated. He added that at least one officer was transported to a local hospital from the initial crash scene with minor injuries.
LAPD's South Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
