Taikoo Engine Services (Xiamen) Co., Ltd., an engineering branch of the multinational company Swire Group, has vowed to continue investing in China.
SOUNDBITE (English) SIMON JAMES SMITH, Director and general manager of Taikoo Engine Services (Xiamen) Co., Ltd.
"We will be investing hundreds of millions of RMB over the next two years. We will be bringing in new technology products such as the CF34-10A and the GP7200 modules. These are very high-technology products. We'll also be investing in the GE9X, which is the next large wide-body engine over the next year to two years. All of these products are extremely innovative and high technology. We will also be investing into robotics, artificial intelligence, and digitalization to ensure that we remain ahead of the market in terms of competitiveness.
I think there are tremendous opportunities in Chinese mainland. I mean, especially given the fact that you have a growing middle class, you have a lot more people traveling, you have thousands of new aircraft coming into the system, which will ultimately need to be overhauled and serviced.
The Chinese economy is the second largest economy in the world. And we're very confident in the growth of the Chinese economy going forward, and especially in the aviation sector. We will continue to explore the Chinese market and the global market from within China. And I'm very confident that it will be successful on the road ahead."
