The ambassador of Honduras to China said that since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Honduras, Honduras has actively improved marine products and striven to become a reliable and high-quality supplier to the Asian country.
He made the remarks at the 2024 China (Fuzhou) International Seafood & Fisheries Expo held in Fuzhou, China's Fujian Province.

"I think this is a magnificent platform for exhibiting and commercializing seafood products for us, for Honduras. It's a great opportunity. It's our first time we are here. We will be here many times.
The Chinese market is gigantic, especially if you compare it with our capacity to produce prawns for example. Last year we produced only 30 million kilograms of prawns which is very little for the Chinese market, but if we can send to China a good number of our kilograms of prawns, which are of very high quality, I think we will be very, very pleased."
Honduras made its debut at the expo as the guest of honor, with seven South American white shrimp companies organized by the country participating in the expo.
China and Honduras established diplomatic relations in March 2023.
