The train is a converted Intercity High Speed Train (HST) operated by Network Rail. The train can measure and record track defects at speeds of up to 125mph, covering up to 115,000 miles a year. All this technology keeps the railways safe, spotting defects enabling preventative maintenance to be carried out.
