Activating nursing home residents with the power of play!
I am Joël, and I am a movement therapist. I work in elderly care and I invite the residents in the nursing home to get moving. As many as 90% of the residents are inactive. I wanted to change this. The residents who are inactive are difficult to activate. By using household items and making it playful, the residents started to engage and wanted to move again. The most important thing? They got a smile back on their faces and regained their zest for life.
