Smart farmers move coconuts in man-made waterways
Smart farmers moved coconuts in man-made waterways to easily harvest them.
Footage shows the farmers wading in chest-deep irrigation between the trees where the fruit had been floating in Ratchaburi province, Thailand.
Instead of carrying them to the truck for transport to the market, they floated hundreds of heavy coconut in the water and collect them in a raft so they could reach their destination with minimal effort.
The Watchara Coconut Farm which uses the technique have their coconuts traverse various waterways within the farm to move them.
A crane would then lift them up and load them onto trucks which would carry them to markets.
The farm spans approximately 237 acres of land (600 rai) and contains over 21,000 coconut trees or 35 trees per 1 rai.
The owner of Watchara Coconut Farm said the use of cranes for delivering coconuts is unique to them, setting it apart from others.
They added they have been using the process for five years now.
