In the early hours of this morning, Bedford Hills FD and Bedford PD demonstrated exceptional bravery in rescuing a 35-year-old woman and her two young children from a devastating house fire on Park Ave. in Bedford Hills.

The ordeal unfolded around 3 a.m. when a distress call alerted authorities to the dire situation. Upon arrival, patrol units found the woman desperately clinging to a bathroom window, her children still trapped inside the smoke-engulfed home.

Led by Bedford Hills FD 1st Asst. Chief Patierno, and aided by Officers Jordan Baschnagel, Ronald Sauber, and Joseph Sagliano, responders swiftly sprang into action. Despite the intense smoke, they managed to locate and extricate the children, aged 10 and 9, from separate parts of the house.

All three victims were promptly transported to Westchester County Medical Center for treatment of smoke inhalation, thanks to the efforts of Katonah-Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Town Supervisor Ellen Calves expressed gratitude for the heroic efforts of first responders, emphasizing the pivotal role played by Bedford PD officers in the daring rescue. Authorities, meanwhile, have ruled out foul play in the fire's cause.

The successful outcome stands as a testament to the seamless collaboration between multiple emergency services agencies, ensuring a swift and coordinated response to a potentially tragic situation.
