Jabalia, Gaza - June 3, 2024
Storyline:
Israeli weeks-long military operation has turned Jabalia refugee camp into a living nightmare with ubiquitous ruins and devastations, which are hardly unrecognizable for returning Palestinians following Israeli military pullout on May 31.
The camp, once one of the most densely populated areas in the world, endured indiscriminate bombardment, leading to widespread devastation. The rampant attacks forced residents to flee, crippling residences and public facilities.
Returning residents are grappling with survival and taking makeshift shelters.
According to Gaza's civil defense department, the majority of residential buildings, commercial areas, and infrastructure, including water and power systems, have been completely destroyed. Many hospitals' power systems were also obliterated. The local department has declared the Jabalia refugee camp a disaster area.
