An abandoned cow gave birth on the roadside in Rishikesh, India, when a few days later, on May 27, her newborn calf was tragically struck by a speeding car.

The Karma Animal Trust rescue team swiftly responded to the urgent call for help. They contacted a local ashram's cow shelter, securing a safe place for the distressed mother and her injured calf.

The calf received immediate medical treatment, and both are now safe and recovering in the shelter, thanks to the prompt action and compassion of the Karma Animal Trust.
