A grandmother was clearly enjoying herself as she terrified her daughter by carrying a large snake in one hand and using a walking cane with the other as she calmly walked over to her.

The 89-year-old woman could be seen on CCTV footage captured at the family home in Luoyang, in Henan, China, on May 26, holding the serpent as if it were a toy.

As her daughter, 55, saw her walking over, she ran for the nearby stairs and began screaming at the sight of the dangerous snake.

She could be heard shouting 'throw it away, throw it away, throw it away quickly' as she stomped her feet, nearly fainting out of fear.

But the old woman kept smirking as she slowly walked out of the property using her cane, apparently to show off the snake to their neighbours.

Her granddaughter, Ms Li, who shared the video online, later said: 'It was the first time I saw my mother so scared.

'Later, she even ran outside and fell down. My grandma has always been very brave. She even showed it off to the villagers.'
