Tourist brawl erupts at Chinese museum
On the afternoon of June 4, a brawl broke out among visitors at the Sanxingdui Museum in Guanghan, southern China.
According to eyewitnesses, the altercation involved two men and two women and occurred amid a busy crowd quietly viewing the museum's precious artifacts. Suddenly, an argument erupted in the exhibition hall, followed by a man in a white shirt aggressively picking up a plastic stool and attempting to strike a woman in red. Fortunately, another man nearby intervened, using his body to block the stool and protect the woman, preventing direct harm to her. Despite this intervention, the incident caused considerable chaos in the hall.
Witnesses reported that the fight was sparked when the woman in red allegedly injured the wife of the man in white by hitting her with a water cup, resulting in head bleeding and dental damage. This provocation enraged the man in white, leading to the ensuing confrontation.
The museum's security team promptly intervened, separating the involved parties and restoring order in the exhibition hall. The museum authorities also alerted the police, who quickly arrived to handle the situation.
Museum officials confirmed that the involved tourists have been taken to the police station for investigation, and the artifacts in the exhibition hall were not damaged. They assured full cooperation with the police investigation and indicated that further actions would be taken based on the investigation's outcome.
