In a recent interview with Xinhua, Pavol Antalic, chairman of the Slovak-Chinese Joint Business Council, said that electric cars are the future of the world for a green Earth.
SOUNDBITE (English): PAVOL ANTALIC, Chairman of Slovak-Chinese Joint Business Council"I am very interested in China's electric cars. Last 15 years, I have visited all exhibitions in Shanghai or Beijing. Because every day, every year, it changes. China's electric cars are very good and technical. It's excellent.
Local customers are very interested in Chinese EV cars. For batteries, China has very famous factories. CATL is now building a big factory in Hungary and delivering batteries to BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Volkswagen. And Slovakia also prepared one battery factory, Gotion, a Chinese company, in the city Surany. It's now only preparing. I think it will produce in two or three years.
For green policy, I think it's also a big market, not only for cars in Europe, East Europe, but for building also battery factories, solar panel factories or other green technologies. Because the market always needs a big quantity.
I am testing many Chinese cars, BYD, NIO, Huawei, Geely. Quality is good, design is also good, and price is also good, I think with this advantage this car will have success in Europe."
