Iraq on Tuesday sent a convoy of trucks carrying food and medical aid to the Gaza Strip to help the besieged Palestinians.

"35 trucks loaded with food, medical supplies, and life-saving medicines are now heading to people in Gaza. The convoy, which carries the largest batch of aid, will head to the Trebil border crossing with Jordan, and from there to the Jordanian port of Aqaba on the Red Sea, then to the Egyptian port of Nuweiba via ferries, and from there to Rafah."
Iraq has already sent several batches of medical aid and fuel to the Gaza Strip in coordination with the Jordanian and Egyptian authorities.
Israel launched a large-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip to retaliate against a Hamas rampage through the southern Israeli border on Oct. 7, 2023, during which about 1,200 people were killed and more than 250 were taken hostage.
Israeli attacks have killed more than 36,000 people in Gaza and its blockade has caused a catastrophic humanitarian situation in the besieged enclave, according to health authorities in Gaza.
