On May 23, a cat named "Baozi" from Wenzhou, southern China, has achieved the remarkable feat of setting the Guinness World Record for the fastest 10-metre skateboard ride by a cat, clocking in at an impressive 12.85 seconds. This achievement not only showcases Baozi's exceptional talent and training but also brings new honour to China's pet community.

Baozi, a one-year-eight-month-old American Shorthair, is owned by pet trainer Mr. Li Jiangtao. Originally purchased to help control the household rodent population, Baozi's skateboarding journey began unexpectedly when Mr. Li noticed the cat's keen interest in skateboards. Seizing the opportunity, Mr. Li began training Baozi in skateboarding techniques.

Throughout the training, Baozi exhibited remarkable learning aptitude and adaptability, quickly mastering skateboarding skills with enthusiasm and perseverance.

Guinness World Records officials noted that few cat-related records have been held by Chinese pets, making Baozi's accomplishment particularly significant. They praised Baozi's speed as miraculous, highlighting the potential and charm of cats in skateboarding.
