Charles County, MD, USA - June 2, 2024

On the evening of June 2nd, at 2003 hours, the Rescue Squad 2 and Tanker 2 of Charles Company 5 swiftly responded to a distress call reporting a house fire at Bucktown Court. The team, accompanied by Chief 2A and comprising six dedicated volunteers, sprang into action immediately upon dispatch.

Upon arrival, Engine-Tanker 1002 discovered a concerning scene: a two-story, single-family home ablaze, with flames originating from the back deck and spreading into the interior. Recognizing the severity of the situation, they promptly requested a working fire upgrade. Engine-Tanker 224 promptly joined the effort with an additional five volunteers.

The collaborative efforts of Rescue Squad 2, Calvert Tower 2, and Chief 2A proved crucial in containing the attic fire on Division 2. Meanwhile, Engine-Tanker 224 was assigned the critical role of Rapid Intervention, supported by Mechanicsville unit drivers who diligently managed the Water Supply Operation.

Operating tirelessly for approximately two and a half hours under the command of Chief 1002, the Mechanicsville units were finally relieved of duty by command, marking the end of a challenging yet efficiently managed operation. Chief 1002 commanded the scene, with Chief 2A overseeing Division 2 operations.
