STANDUP 1 (English): YE TING, Xinhua correspondent
"I am now at the control tower. One cargo plane departing from Taiyuan has just arrived. Located adjacent to the Yangtze River's golden waterway in central China's Hubei Province, the airport commenced operations in July 2022. This is China's first cargo-focused hub airport and stands as a significant milestone in the country's logistics capabilities."

The airport is positioned as a cargo-focused hub airport with extensive cargo traffic and some passenger traffic.

Targeting to become a world-class air cargo hub, the airport has been constantly enhancing its cargo-handling capacity and operation efficiency.

"From January to May, the airport's cargo and mail throughput exceeded 300,000 tonnes, up 6,835 percent compared with the same period last year. The number of cargo flights reached 11,000."

The airport opened the first international cargo route in April 2023.

So far, it has successfully opened international freight routes to countries such as Belgium and Germany.
