Moldova's Foreign Minister, Mihai Popsoi, told Xinhua in a recent interview that Moldova-China relations are based on mutual respect.

Popsoi noted that Moldova is willing to promote cooperation with China and learn from China's advanced experience in various fields.

"The bilateral relations between the Republic of Moldova and the People's Republic of China have been based and are still based on mutual respect, and respect for international law. And there is certainly a lot more room there for improvement."

"China has leadership positions when it comes to green energy, technology. And we look forward to continuously cooperating in this field, because Moldova is committed to having this green transformation, and China is a strong partner in this regard. We are looking forward to seeing how we can learn from that experience and how we can be better integrated into these new technologies, and how we can benefit to reduce our carbon footprint and to have more resilient economic system, especially when it comes to energy resilience."
