Airport security guards suspended for fighting in front of passengers at Bangkok Airport
Two airport security guards were suspended for fighting in front of passengers at an airport in Bangkok, Thailand.
Footage shows one officer being battered by another as a third worker tried in vain to stop the row in front of the departures terminal at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport on June 4.
The airport said in a statement that the incident occurred at 2 pm local time, and stemmed from a personal dispute between the guards.
The statement read: 'The two employees are employees of the airport's security department. The cause of the fight was personal problems, which is unacceptable, as it happened while they wearing uniforms on duty.
'In addition, their actions violated the rules and regulations of Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT). The supervisor immediately has suspended both employees and set up a disciplinary investigation committee to consider taking disciplinary action in accordance with AOT's regulations.
'Suvarnabhumi Airport apologises for the incident and reaffirms the importance of employee discipline. If any disciplinary violations are found, the employees will be subject to the highest penalty of dismissal from AOT employment.'
