Storyline:
The International Conference on Renewable Energy (CITER) concluded in Teresina, capital of Brazil's northeastern state of Piaui, on Wednesday, with a vibrant display of innovation and commitment to sustainable energy solutions at an exhibition.

The three-day event served as a platform for dialogue and the exhibition of the renewable energy industry's future. It attracted a diverse audience, including government officials, business leaders, and a significant number of students eager to forge careers in clean energy.

On the closing day, students presented their model of a hydrolysis system to the State Secretary of Education, showcasing their sustainable studies program. This initiative is part of their broader aspirations for high-paying jobs in green hydrogen, which is poised to play a significant role in the energy future of Piaui.

Washington Bandeira, Piaui's Secretary of Education, emphasized the state's investment in education.

The conference, which was Brazil's first international gathering with focus on the transition to sustainable energy, featured a science fair that highlighted the latest advancements in the field. Recent studies indicate that Brazil boasts the largest renewable energy workforce in Latin America.

At CITER, hundreds of high school and university students were introduced to the burgeoning sustainable energy market through interactive displays and demonstrations of cutting-edge technologies.

The Piaui state government reported that the region already generates five times more energy than it consumes, thanks to a 100 percent clean wind and solar electrical grid.

Recognizing the potential of these clean energy sources for hydrogen production, Marcus Lima, a 23-year-old environmental law student from Federal University of Piaui, expressed optimism about the realistic goal of atmospheric decarbonization.

The CITER conference, held from June 3 to 5, highlighted Piaui's achievements and vast green energy potential. It pooled collective genius of 180 international speakers and was the first event of its kind to be supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), marking a step forward in Brazil's renewable energy journey.
