Collision between two planes averted at Mumbai airport,Airbus A320neo Lands Seconds After A320neo Takes Off
Hundreds of passengers had a narrow escape at Mumbai airport yesterday after an IndiGo aircraft touched down on the same runway from which an Air India jet was taking off.
The incident involved IndiGo flight 5053 inbound from Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport (IDR) landing on Runway 27, as Air India flight 657 was still in the process of taking off for Thiruvananthapuram International Airport (TRV). Both aircraft that were operating the flights were Airbus A320neos.
Aviation regular Directorate of Civil Aviation has launched a probe and derostered the Air Traffic Control official on duty.
