Zhoukou Port has witnessed a resurgence in river shipping in recent years, due to local efforts to revive its waterway shipping.
The port has transformed into a gateway for the inland province, facilitating the flow of goods to and from Henan.

"Zhoukou Port started operation in 2017, and we have already opened 16 domestic container shipping routes and 12 international routes, which includes the port of Miami in the U.S., the port of Tema in Ghana, the port of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, and the Port of Manila in the Philippines and so on."
