Lightning strikes the wing tips of a wind turbine.
On May 2, 2024, the wind turbines in Niederkrüchten-Bönnensohl,
Germany, were hit by several lightning strikes during a severe thunderstorm.
The lightning found its way into the wing tips. A trail of incandescent parts can be seen.
The function of the Enercon E-115 wind turbines was apparently not affected.
The video was recorded with a Canon EOS R6Mk.II camera with a Canon 100-500mm telephoto lens in 4k resolution at 50 frames per second.
The video has been edited to show one of the flashes and a slow motion of the same flash.
