Firemen rescue black Labrador trapped in underground pipe
Firemen rescued a black Labrador trapped in an underground pipe.
Footage shows officers from the San Diego Fire Department probing the hole in the ground where there was a pooch named Oden barking and a skunk at the front in San Diego, California, on June 7.
One of the rescuers used a shovel to widen the opening and called for the 43kg canine to climb out of the hole.
Maintenance officers also helped retrieve Oden until it emerged from the pipe. The dog reportedly chased a skunk through the hole in the ground but could not find its way out.
Oden was unhurt and returned to its owner. It had to be showered to remove the distinct smell of the skunk.
