STORYLINE:

The 23rd "Chinese Bridge" language proficiency contest in Ghana concluded on Friday, with 12 Ghanaian contestants from three public universities competing in the grand finale.

The contestants took exams, delivered speeches and performed various art forms to demonstrate their understanding and mastery of the Chinese language and culture, which captivated the audience.

Lilian Ama Serwa Tobias, this year's champion, expressed her excitement about the winning.

"I am excited that I brought success to my school, my teachers, and those who help me. This award means a lot to me, especially being a Ghanaian student. I had an interest in learning Chinese, so I decided to study Chinese."

Tu Santang, a Chinese teacher at the Confucius Institute at the University of Cape Coast, expressed his satisfaction with the competition's outcome.
