Huntingdon, UK - April 9, 2024

In a recent development in the ongoing fight against drug-related activities, an 18-year-old teenager has been sentenced after admitting his intention to sell class A drugs.

The Huntingdon Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) was conducting patrols in the Oxmoor area on April 9th, responding to concerns about drug dealing in the vicinity. During their patrol, officers observed Irmantas Gespautas, 18, interacting with two known drug users. Suspecting illicit activity, officers approached Gespautas, who fled upon seeing them.

Following a pursuit, Gespautas was apprehended in The Whaddons and subjected to a stop-search. When questioned about any drugs in his possession, Gespautas admitted to having drugs, claiming he had found them and intended to sell them.

A subsequent search revealed nine wraps of crack cocaine and heroin, leading to Gespautas' arrest on charges of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. Appearing at Cambridge Crown Court on June 5th, Gespautas, of no fixed address, was sentenced to a year in a Young Offenders Institution after pleading guilty to the offence.
