A caring resident saved the life of a lizard stuck in rodent glue trap.

Weeraya Tawut said she was hoping to get rid of the pests in her home but woke up to the gecko struggling to move in the pad instead in Nakhon Sawan province, Thailand on May 23.

Footage shows Weeraya gently using a stick to pull the tiny reptile away from the sticky trap.

She poured on it to make it slippery and successfully removed the animal alive. To clean the adhesive from its body, she put tapioca all over it and used toothbrush to clean.

She said: ‘The gecko was safe now after my DIY rescue procedure. I hope it lives a long life.'

The house owner released the gecko into her garden. It perched on the ornaments and rested on the ledge of her window where she continued to clean it with a wet tissue.
