This is the moment a group of friends sitting at a roadside restaurant were sent flying by a runaway tricycle which then chased them around the grounds.

The group were cluttered into a stall in the city of Guangzhou in Guangdong, China, on June 3.

CCTV footage shows how the vehicle first collided with the table, knocking the men over. It started to drive around in a circle as guests fled, including one man who eventually threw himself onthe ground in obvious pain after his leg was injured.

They saw the tricycle crash into an immovable object in the form of a tree and its journey ended there.

According to the stall owner, the old man who rode the trike is a waste collector who had lost control after mixing up the accelerator and the brake.

The matter was dealt with privately with the old man's family paying compensation to the victim and for the damage.
