Two people had a miracle escape after a car crashed over a cliff.

The pair were rescued after the vehicle accidentally drove over the edge of Ladye Bay in Clevedon in Somerset on Monday.

Clevedon Firefighters said: ''Just after 3:30pm crews from Clevedon, Portishead Firefighters, Southmead and Temple stations were responded to reports of a car which had accidentally driven over the edge of Ladye Bay.

''Crews working alongside South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust Hazardous Area Response Team & Clevedon Coastguard Rescue Team secured the vehicle before rescuing 2 people from the vehicle who were conveyed to hospital by ambulance as a precaution.''
