On June 10, 2024, continuous heavy rain with more than 300mm of precipitation caused catastrophic flooding in Ha Giang, northern Vietnam. Video footage captured the dramatic moment as floodwaters rose to 2 meters, submerging thousands of houses and isolating many households.

The relentless downpour led to the worst flood the region has seen in a decade. The sudden surge of floodwaters left two people missing and dozens injured. As rescue efforts continue, the community faces the challenge of recovering from the widespread devastation.
