The tranquility of the Palace of Versailles was briefly interrupted on Tuesday, June 11 when a fire broke out, prompting the evacuation of visitors from one of France's most esteemed historical landmarks.

Fortunately, swift action from firefighters swiftly brought the situation under control, averting any significant damage to the palace's renowned collection. According to a spokesperson, the fire originated in a section of roofing undergoing renovation works.

Despite the momentary disruption, the Palace of Versailles remains a beacon of cultural heritage, attracting over seven million visitors annually. Later this summer, it is scheduled to host the equestrian events of the Olympic Games, further solidifying its status as a symbol of French history and prestige.
