Inspection of cows for sacrificial animals for Eid al-Adha 2024 in Indonesia
West Sumatra, Wednesday 12 May 2024 - A total of 45,000 cows in West Sumatra Province, Indonesia, had their health checked before being used as sacrificial animals for the 2024 Idul Adha celebration by Muslims.
This animal health check is to ensure that there are no serious illnesses in the cow that will be used as a sacrificial animal. Animal health officers also went to the cattle pen.
Healthy cows are marked, so that people can buy the cows to be used as sacrificial animals. Apart from ensuring animal health, cow pens must also meet cleanliness requirements.
This has become one of the requirements for every cow to be used as a sacrificial animal during the Eid al-Adha celebration.
