In the video, which was filmed on Sunday, 7-year-old Samuel is practicing boomerang throwing at a kids' birthday party at Walkabout Park near Gosford New South Wales, Australia.

Samuel does his best to throw the boomerang but it leaves his hand early and flies straight at his dad who is doing the filming.

Fortunately the boomerang just nicked the dad's sunglasses and he avoided serious injury.

The boomerang is a flat, curved piece of wood which Aboriginals used for hunting. The rotating boomerang can fly in a large circular path and return to the thrower to be caught.
